CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR PREGNANCY!!!

I’m so excited for your family!

Our world has been facing uncertain times for months and this pandemic has probably changed your plans for welcoming your baby. Family, friends, & your birth photographer can’t be there for this amazing day and that makes my heart sad for you. So, until birth photographers are allowed back into the hospitals, I created this Birth Photography Help Guide to give you and your partner tips for documenting your own birth story.

Birth photographers work hard during a birth watching for all these moments, staying focused on documenting your story.  There is so much to photograph during a birth. This Guide has some tips of the moments and details to be looking for.  But remember dad, focus most of your time on mom and your baby than the camera.  She'll need you and your support, and you should be in the moment too! And mom, be sure to take photos of him throughout the day and especially with the baby.

Even though I can't be IN the hospital for your baby's arrival or a First48 newborn session, you can still get the newness of the first few days with a BRINGING BABY HOME session.

I spend some time with your sweet family on your first day home - in the new nursery, feeding your baby, dad changing a diaper, and the sweet cuddles, wrinkles, and tiny  yawns that make you swoon.  You might choose to skip baby's first bath at the hospital and give that first bath at home!  I'd love to photograph it for you.

This session is mostly documentary but there will be some guided images too. I know moms love the photos of your big strong husband being wrapped right around that baby's tiny finger so I'll make sure to have those images.  I'll also take your first casual family photo at home.  Details on the Bringing Baby Home series are on my website.

But before the baby arrives, don't forget a MATERNITY session. This too is a documentary story of how you and your spouse spend an evening or weekend morning together before the baby. How about a snippet of your pregnant life on a typical day with your other children? This session will be sure to show your beautiful round tummy doing life - walking with the dogs, making dinner together, getting the other kids ready for bed, or a trip to the baby store to complete your baby registry. Remember what life like when it was just the two of you, or before a new little person expanded your family. I offer a special rate for doing both session.

Sending best wishes for a safe delivery and a big healthy baby,

Jennifer Crow
